Sher has exhibited work in more than 200 shows in the US, Europe, Africa and Asia.  He is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts award and a Fulbright Grant.

In addition to his undergraduate and graduate degrees, he enhanced his education by traveling and studying in all of these places as well as in Central America and Israel. 

He created work in cast iron and bronze and also made a number of public sculptures.
