Jewish Art Salon receives grant from COJECO


“Connect with Art”, the Jewish Art Salon's series of young adult art programs in New York, has received funding from COJECOThe series aims to engage Russian Jews with the greater Jewish community, fostering a stronger connection to culture and traditions, and to each other, through art. 

These programs, organized by the Jewish Art Salon, will be hosted in partnership with Ycrop and RJeneration.

The series will feature hands-on workshops, lecture presentations, and film. Participating artists are Jewish Art Salon members Siona Benjamin, Tobi Kahn, Joel Silverstein, Saul Sudin, and Julian Voloj. Yona Verwer is the program's coordinator.

This program is sponsored by Center Without Walls, a project of COJECO, funded by the UJA-Federation of NY and Genesis Philanthropy Group.  

Sessions include Judaism, Comic Books and Their Creator - Comic Book Workshop, Exploring Identity – Mezuzah Workshop,  Illuminated Manuscript Painting Workshop, the screening of the film Punk Jewsand DiasporaJewish communities from Cuba to Morocco.


The sessions will be held between October 2013 and April 2014 in various venues throughout New York City.
